I am a 3rd generation Alberta lawyer, who was born in the City of Calgary. I received my honours bachelor of arts degree at the University of Calgary, and I received my law degree at the University of Ottawa in 1991.
My trial experience includes conducting hundreds of trials, and many appeals. I have appeared before regulatory tribunals, professional disciplinary bodies, and the Drivers’ (now the Traffic Safety Board) in respect to licence suspensions.
I attend Legal Education Society of Alberta seminars, and I contribute my time as a volunteer by participating in the development of the Criminal Law curriculum, and teaching at the Society’s seminars.
Additionally, I did belong to the Southern Alberta Legal Aid Appeals Committee, and I have provided pro bono services to numerous low income legal service organizations and individuals.
All of these commitments have given me exposure to the problems confronting people who are in trouble with the law.
